What is insulin resistance?

Insulin resistance is a health condition in which the body cells do not respond to insulin, as response glucose cannot be used for energy production. To lessen the damage, the body produces more and more insulin, but because of its lack of absorption, it starts accumulating in the blood, ultimately increasing blood sugar levels.

Insulin resistance is a syndrome that results in the production of several other diseases, like; blood pressure, high cholesterol, type 2 diabetes, and obesity. It is so common as to say that everyone out of three people is affected by it. Insulin resistance can only be detected through a blood test or either through a disoriented physique, like an increase in waistline or severe case may cause the production of dark patches over the skin called acanthosis nigricans.
