What is cholecystitis?

Cholecystitis is irritation of the gallbladder that commonly occurs while a gallstone blocks the cystic duct.

 

What are the signs and symptoms of cholecystitis?

  • Severe ache on higher upper or middle stomach
  • Pain that spreads for upper shoulder or back
  • Tenderness over stomach while touched
  • Nausea
  • Vomiting
  • Fever

What causes cholecystitis?

  • Gallstones.: result of difficult debris that broadens your gallbladder (gallstones). 
  • Tumor: may also store your bile from draining from your gallbladder properly, inflicting bile buildup that may cause cholecystitis.
  • Infection: AIDS and positive viral infections can cause gallbladder irritation.
