What is brain hemorrhage?

When there is bleeding in the brain, it is called a brain hemorrhage. A medical ailment known as a brain bleed or an intracranial hemorrhage. It’s a medical emergency that needs to be dealt with right away.

When a brain hemorrhage occurs, what happens?

  • When blood from trauma irritates brain tissues, swelling occurs. Cerebral edema is the medical term for this condition. A hematoma is a mass formed by a collection of pooled blood.
  • These circumstances increase pressure on adjacent brain tissue, which lowers critical blood flow and causes brain cells to die.
  • Inside the brain, between the brain and the membranes that surround it, between the layers of the brain’s covering, or between the skull and the brain’s covering, bleeding can occur.

 

What are the causes of brain bleeding?

  • Trauma to the head: injury is its most common cause for people under the age of 50.
  • Untreated high blood pressure: BP too high can cause blood vessel walls to deteriorate.
  • Aneurysm: when the wall of a blood vessel weakens and expands. It has the potential to burst and haemorrhage into the brain, resulting in a stroke.
  • Anomalies of the blood vessels (Arteriovenous malformations): weaknesses in the blood vessels in and around the brain 
  • Amyloid angiopathy is a kind of amyloid angiopathy: blood vessel wall irregularity that can emerge because of age or excessive blood pressure. Before creating a big bleed, it may create a series of minor, undetectable bleeds.
  • Disorders of the blood or bleeding. 
  • Brain tumors

 

What symptoms and signs of one having a brain bleed?

  • severe headache that appears out of nowhere, difficulty eating, and vision problems.
  • trouble speaking or slurred voice lack of balance or coordination confusion or difficulties understanding
  • stupor, lethargy, or unconsciousness seizures
