What is blood type diet?
Blood type diet is based on the idea that blood type O, A, B, or AB, is the most essential component in selecting a healthy diet. The blood type diets are fad diets.
The underlying notion behind such diets is that persons with different blood types digest lectins differently, and that eating food that is not compatible with one's blood type can lead to a variety of health issues. On the other side, a person will be healthier if they eat foods that are compatible.
This diet is advocated by several authors, the most prominent of whom is Peter J. D'Adamo.
What to eat?
That is the way the blood types are supposed to consume food:
- Type A the agrarian or cultivator: Type A people, must eat a diet rich in vegetables without "toxic" red meat. That is like eating a vegetarian diet.
- Type B The nomad: They can eat plants and all meats (except pork and chicken) and consume the occasional dairy. But they should steer clear of wheat and corn, lentils, tomatoes, and other foods.
- Type AB called the enigma: The term is used to describe a mix of A and B. Foods suitable for consumption comprise seafood, tofu, dairy beans, and grains. It is recommended to avoid kidney beans and corn and chicken and beef.
- Type O also known as the hunter: This is a diet high in protein primarily based on fish, meat or poultry, and a few fruits and other vegetables; however, it is not a lot of grains, legumes and dairy.
