What is abdominal pain?

Abdominal pain, often known as stomach pain, is a feeling of discomfort in the area between the chest and the pelvis. Most occurrences of stomach discomfort are minor and can be caused by a variety of things, including indigestion or muscle strain. 


Stomachache, tummy ache, gut ache, and bellyache are all phrases used to represent abdominal pain. 

Symptoms  

  • Fever and severe pain 
  • Stools that are bloody 
  • Nausea and vomiting regularly 
  • Loss of weight 
  • Yellowish-colored skin 
  • When you touch your abdomen, it feels really tender. 
  • Abdominal swelling. 

Causes

  • Serious: 
    • appendicitis,  
    • perforated stomach ulcer
    • pancreatitis
    • ruptured diverticulitis
    • ovarian torsion
    • volvulus
    • ruptured aortic aneurysm 
    • lacerated spleen or liver 
    • ischemic colitis
    • ischaemic myocardial conditions

    • gastroenteritis
    • irritable bowel syndrome
